These homeowners had just finished a major remodel on their home, and they wanted to make sure their timely and costly investment would remain protected. In the hotter months of the year, condensation and humidity in their crawl space skyrocketed, and they knew this could be a problem. They reached out to us to see what could we do to tackle the moisture in their crawl space and prevent future damage. One of our system design specialist, Andrew, was able to introduce them to the encapsulation system and design a plan for the underside of their home. Fast forward to now, and one of our talented crews has already been out to put the system in place. Our durable CleanSpace Liner, a crawl space dehumidifier, our sump pump system, and more have been installed in the now sealed off crawl space to create a dry environment, safe from moisture and mold damage. These homeowners can rest easy knowing their hard work isn't at risk!
This crawlspace in Toomsuba was holding moisture and mold, causing buckling floors inside the home. Our team treated the mold and installed our waterproofing encapsulation. This should eventually help the floors settle back down in the home. While we can't guarantee this, we've found they do lay down in most cases.
Now this crawlspace is cleaned out, free of moisture, and insulated from our encapsulation system.
This home in Louisiana was having mold and moisture problems in the crawlspace due to insulation holding water. Like a sponge, insulation will absorb water and hold on to it, nestling it close to the subfloor and joists. This leads to a bigger issue because wood + water = rot. Having a dry crawlspace is necessary to maintaining the life of your home. Once we removed the problematic insulation, we encapsulated the space leaving no room for moisture to creep in. Not only does our system free the crawlspace up to stay healthy, it also insulates it by completely sealing off every opening and crevice. So the need for insulation is now obsolete.
When it comes to repairing foundations, our main goal is to make sure the foundation is stabilized and safe. Our crews will attempt to achieve some lift, but will not sacrifice the stability of the home to do so. In this home's case, the foundation cooperated enough with us to seal up this crack quite a bit!
