Crawl Space Repair Before & After Photos

Moisture in the crawlspace was causing this home's floors to buckle inside the living area. Melissa Johnson, one of our talented Design Specialists, performed the inspection and estimate on this home. 

From our estimate, the customer agreed that this was the best way forward and had the encapsulation put in. We cleaned out any debris and were careful not to disturb the wires, pipes, and other units down in the crawlspace. Now his crawlspace will stay free of moisture and his floors won't buckle or cup again. 

This homeowner reached out to us because their subfloors were swelling with moisture, which had caused their floors to bulge to a dangerous degree. If you take a look at the before picture our team captured, we're sure you may be able to tell why! That old vapor barrier just simply did not stand the test of time. Just a standard vapor barrier already isn't enough to fully protect against moisture, and it didn't help that this was one was torn and almost swallowed in mud/dirt. Lots of areas were still exposed for moisture to create an issue, and we came with the goal in mind to hit each and everyone of those problematic areas. This homeowner had attempted to deal with the moisture in their crawl space before using a standard vapor barrier, but as you can see, mud and moisture still found a way to track across the top. We found tears and pulled away portions that were allowing ground moisture to continue to seep in and do its thing. They needed a replacement!
