Moisture in the crawlspace was causing this 1400 square foot home to experience severe musty smells and growing fungi. Corey Becker inspected the crawlspace and found their problem is something we can fix permanently! We sealed off all the vents to the outside, installed a sump pump in the ground to catch the ground water, and totally encapsulated the crawlspace, keeping it safe from moisture and humidity. Finally, we added a dehumidifier that connects to the pump to regulate the air quality.
In Wesson, MS, an old, wet, and torn vapor barrier spelled trouble with relentless moisture and inadequate protection. Notice in the photo how this issue manifested in a compromised crawl space. Our team at Midsouth Crawlspace Solutions stepped in to handle it. We installed quality Drainage Matting, enhancing water conductivity beneath the CleanSpace system. This innovative solution not only tackles moisture effectively but reinforcements increase durability and comfort. As seen in the after photo, we transformed this space, delivering a clean, dry foundation with our expert touch in crawl space repair and encapsulation.
These homeowners excitedly moved into their new home, but unfortunately had a few issues to overcome before they could focus on turning it into their dream home. One of these issues was a big one, their wet crawl space. Some areas were damp, some had standing water, it was a result of it going completely unprotected for its nearly 70 years of life. When we sent one of our design specialists out to inspect the home, they discovered that the floors were beginning to buckle, and we doubt this is the first time either, there's no telling how many times the subfloors and floors have had to been replaced due to the trapped moisture below. In order to prevent this and the other side effects that moisture can bring, we installed our encapsulation system. You can see the large difference this makes visually in the before and after image, but it is also going to make a massive difference when it comes to the safety and protection of this home and its future. The CleanSpace Liner is covering each part of the crawl space and blocking out seepage, while our dehumidifier and sump pump systems collect moisture from the air and around the crawl space to keep it safe and dry. With this peace of mind, these homeowners can continue to build their home and future on top of a safe foundation!
Enjoy a look at a recently encapsulated crawl space our team installed in Wesson, MS! As you can see in the images, our CleanSpace Liner really transforms the crawl space visually, while it also, along with our dehumidifier seen in the back, manages moisture and humidity so that damage can be completely avoided. Congratulations to our foreman, Mike, for a job so well done!
