These homeowners excitedly moved into their new home, but unfortunately had a few issues to overcome before they could focus on turning it into their dream home. One of these issues was a big one, their wet crawl space. Some areas were damp, some had standing water, it was a result of it going completely unprotected for its nearly 70 years of life. When we sent one of our design specialists out to inspect the home, they discovered that the floors were beginning to buckle, and we doubt this is the first time either, there's no telling how many times the subfloors and floors have had to been replaced due to the trapped moisture below. In order to prevent this and the other side effects that moisture can bring, we installed our encapsulation system. You can see the large difference this makes visually in the before and after image, but it is also going to make a massive difference when it comes to the safety and protection of this home and its future. The CleanSpace Liner is covering each part of the crawl space and blocking out seepage, while our dehumidifier and sump pump systems collect moisture from the air and around the crawl space to keep it safe and dry. With this peace of mind, these homeowners can continue to build their home and future on top of a safe foundation!
This home was experiencing buckling floors due to moisture issues. Our team was able to install a sump pump to remove and divert the water flow. We also encapsulated under the home to keep the crawl space clean and dry and installed a dehumidifier to maintain moisture-free airflow. A sealed and dry crawl space is the secret to maintaining an energy efficient and healthy home.
This home in Brookhaven had plastic sheeting down, causing more harm than good. It was trapping moisture in the crawlspace allowing mold and plant life to grow. It also contained an open ventilation system that was continually bringing in more air, filled with condensation, further aggravating the issues.
Henry Bennett performed our free inspection and presented this family with our solution. We moved forward with the proposal, completing the clean out, mold treatment, product installation, and full encapsulation system. Now they have a fantastic crawlspace that will stay clean and dry. It will even help reduce their energy bills as the crawlspace temperature stays extremely close to that of the house.
These two before and after images really showcase the upgrade that the CleanSpace Liner is, compared to a regular vapor barrier. We come across many crawl spaces where vapor barriers had originally been lazily thrown onto the dirt floor, resulting in a pulled away, torn, dirty mess of plastic once we arrived. The CleanSpace Liner, as you can see in the after image, is tightly secured not only to the floor of the crawl space, but to the walls, supports, and around all odd steps and curves. The CleanSpace Liner is also much thicker and durable than the average liner, meaning better protection over more surface area!
This home in central Mississippi was having issues with moisture buildup in the crawl space. They had a 6 mil plastic liner on the ground, but it was not helping with any of the moisture. The sub floors of his home were completely rotted out and had to be replaced. He saw one of our trucks on the road one day and gave us a call to see if we could help fix his crawl space. Our solutions for under the home are proven to work and we created a proposal for him to look over. We have great resources that explain why moisture builds up in the first place and how our solutions combat that. We were able to install our encapsulation system under his home and remove the old, nasty plastic that was lining the crawl space. Now, his crawl space is dry, clean, and protected. We left with a happy customer!
