Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Picayune, MS Crawlspace with Insulation Holding Moisture
This home in Picayune, Mississippi was having issues because their insulation was holding moisture. You can see the condensation from the initial inspection pictures dripping off the plastic sheeting under the insulation. Because it's wet, it's now trapping that moisture right up against the subfloor and joists. This is extremely hazardous because it will cause mold and rot in the crawlspace. Eventually, the excessive moisture will rise into the house creating musty smells and buckling floors.
Our Design Specialist Henry traveled to Picayune to take a look and see what was going on. He designed a custom solution for this family and showed them a presentation of how our system works. They liked our products and decided to move forward with the proposal. Our Foreman, Adam led his crew to clean the crawlspace and installed our system to keep moisture out and dry air in. There were quite a few pipes to avoid, but no task is too great for our guys! They tackled this project and improved the health of this home in Picayune. This system will last for the life of the home, and now they don't have to worry about moisture problems ruining their foundation OR their floors.

Installation Day
Before we installed our encapsulation. The vent on the back wall was sealed to keep the wet air out and the dry air in. This also helps lock in the space so the dehumidifier will actually work to maintain the humidity in the crawlspace. Without it being sealed off, it would never be able to catch up.
Cleaning out the Space
Before we installed our liner, we cleaned out the crawlspace, free of any debris.
Liner Installation
After we installed the liner. We were careful to avoid the many pipes and wires that were in this crawlspace. Our team takes care to leave your home cleaner and in better shape than we found it.
Sealing off the Space
You can see here that we sealed off the vent in the background, locking in the dry air, and preventing outside air that carries water droplets from getting into the new space. We were also careful not to disturb the wires around this pier.
